Your support helps immensely! It’s usually going to go for art supplies, but this month it helped pay my unexpected vet bill for my Zoey baby. Poor angel has asthma and it has been bad the last week or so. I don’t know the full extent yet as I wait on tests, but just today was over $315 and we have more to go on this road. Artist has to art, but also needs her best friend.
This cat is amazing and definitely my baby (at 9-years-old.)
I’m working now on new content for my website. https://www.shelahdowart.com/
I’m creating some artwork now that will only be offered through that venue over the coming months. Whatever I create and display there won’t be in book form until 2018 as an anthology of the year’s work. You don’t wait that long, do you?
This is from my book, Dragon Wings and Wild Things. I used Prismacolor pencils. The image is slightly darker in the book than I want in that way you only see when you truly color something, but it looks really nice when complete. I’ll gladly give a free, lightened PDF to those who have trouble with him, just show me your book with you in the photo.
I also have been working away on dragons for the upcoming book, “Dragon Wings and Wild Things” due to release late March or early April 2017. I only have 5 more dragons to go. Can I get them done in time? You betcha.
If you missed it, “Weirdlings and Wildlings Vol. 2” is now available. To see some of what you’ll find in this book, check it out:
If you like fairies and you like cats, meet the new February Furbaby. This is a cat made just to celebrate all of the wonderful February birthdays out there (like mine!) and features a birthstone to color your way, a fancy little fairy cat, and the monthly flower as a stained glass border.
You can see there are many ways to color this image. What way will you choose?
The inside of the book is now complete. The cover is almost done. We’re finishing up art for the back cover. The new fairy book is almost ready to greet the world! If you want to know when it comes out, please watch this page. It’s down to the wire, as they say.
I took the other camera back and got one with a longer cord. I really am enjoying this whole create on camera thing. It’s fun to go back and watch the design grow into something new. This one needs to be scanned and then cleaned up. She’ll be the very last image to go into the fairy book.
In other words, it’s almost done! I have colorists that are working now on some images for the back cover. I’m figuring out order of images in the book. Everything is right on track and ready to release very soon.
